CREATIVE VALENTINE’S DAY ART
February is certainly a month to look forward to. There is love in the air. It all about celebrating love, the most crucial emotion in a person’s life. Everyone is excited and thrilled as they are making plans and planning surprises for their loved ones. You can find people browsing through stores looking passionately for gifts and smiling shyly as they picture their dear one.
Valentine’s day is not just about buying material gifts. It is about wanting to express your love and that can be done by putting in your efforts and skills to make a piece of art.
Menorah’s Watercolor bookmark is perfect for you to make a creative and easy piece of art. It works well with Watercolors, Acrylics, Gouache, Tempera and Poster Color. Since it is acid free, it is a great choice for gifting, as your art made with love will be preserved without fading or deteriorating over time.
Here is an interesting Bookmark Painting Idea by @pixie.artistry using Menorah Bookmarks:
Materials required
- Menorah watercolour bookmarks (3)
- Sketch pen
- Watercolor
- Round paint brush
- Double sided tape
- Scissor
- Letter stamp
FIGURES:
This bookmark idea is inspired by valentine’s week hence there are two figures drawn, one of a girl and another of a boy holding flowers at his back.
You can draw anything that you like on your bookmark and cut along its outline with a scissor.
BASE CARD :
I have used another Watercolor bookmarks for beginners as the base of my pulling card. To get a fiery orange shade, paint your bookmark with a layer of orange water color and leave a few gaps in between.
Fill the gap with a layer of yellow. To get a uniform mix of both the colors, wet your paintbrush in water and blend the two colors together.
For extra effects, dip your paint brush in white paint and tap it gently using another brush to get an aesthetic splatter.
PULLING CARD :
To make the pulling card, cut the center part of a Watercolor bookmark in a thin rectangular strip.
To make it blend in with the background, paint it in the same way mentioned above and place it at the Centre of the painted base bookmark.
FRAME WORK :
Let’s make a framework for the pulling card! Cut out the centre strip in a new bookmark. Make sure that the hole that you cut has lesser width than the pulling card, so than it can glide easily.
Stick the figure that you want to keep on the framework near the hole that you cut.
Place it over the pulling card and stick both its sides on the base with double sided tape.
DETAILS :
Stick the figure that you want to move on one end of the pulling card with double sided tape.
Decorate the base below the pulling card with letter stamp. You can also write or draw on it if you wish
Pull the center strip gently and watch the figure move beautifully across the card. You have a creative and fun Valentine’s Day gift before you!
